AFRICAN WATERS:

Oceans, seas, lakes, rivers & ponds,
Surrounded, embraced by green waving fronds,
Homes to bird, fish, otter, eel & whale,
Where man seeks food & hoists wind-blown sail.

Waters that cascade, slap, trickle, drip & scream,
Some wild, gurgling, running; others still quiet & serene,
Warmed by father sun, chilled by mother moon,
Waters of the Universe, humming with nature´s tune.

Atlantic, Indian, Red, Dead, & Med,
Beaches, deltas, waterfalls, silt river beds,
Nile, Danube, Ebro, Thames & more,
Lapping & kissing wetlands & salty seashore.

But I yearn for Thamalakane deep & Zambezi wide,
Okavango Delta, Africa´s joy, Africa´s pride,
Water comes, & water sadly goes,
Like my tears, water ebbs & water flows.
