THE BOX OF LOST AND FOUND:

In wooden box of lost & found,
While searching for my glove,
I found more than I bargained for,
Although I didn’t find my glove.

I found old loves, left discarded,
And old heartstrings over plucked,
There were dignities abandoned,
And some sad souls disregarded.

I found poems, once fondly written,
And old serenades, once softly sung,
Old dreams of love´s once smitten,
A lace hanky, in tears now wrung.

There were plans, now untagged,
Hopes abandoned, now dropped & lost,
So I put them all within my waiting bag,
Leaving my ungloved fingers to the frost.
