Puppy with soft melting eyes, beguiled,
Little boy with hands in warm fur, smiled,
Little boy grew tall when time stood still,
Puppy grew faster, when time had its will.
The boy became the man & time flew fast,
Puppy became the dog & youth went past,
The dog became old & then so softly died,
The man knelt in prayer & very sadly cried.
