SENSES: I
TOUCH:
Touch the skin of the little sad child,
Touch the bowl of the old & poor,
Touch the tribe, the tree, the animal wild,
Touch please, with your hearts, just a little bit more.
SMELL:
Smell the brine of Neptune´s salt domain,
Smell the storm at drought´s front door,
Smell the blood of war´s cruel pain,
Smell the rose flung upon the floor.
Don´t just sniff, SMELL
TASTE:
Taste the kiss of a babe´s milky lip,
Taste the salt of lover´s hopeless tear,
Taste the dew that dragonflies sip,
Taste the brine of hunted whale´s awful fear.
Don´t just open your mouth, TASTE.
SEE:
See the clouds flirting with the morning moon,
See the river as she runs & cries,
See the Summer as she bursts into June,
See the trembling wings of bejeweled butterflies.
Don´t just look, SEE.
LISTEN:
Listen to the dust as she sits & whispers,
Listen to the wind making love to the breeze,
Listen to the heat as she burns & blisters,
Listen to the birds praying in the trees.
Don´t just hear, LISTEN.
