The leaf is green,
It talks no tongue,
Belongs to no man,
Ever serene.
The leaf is life,
It does no harm,
Found in all lands,
Causes no strife.
The leaf is peace,
It is loved by all,
Found in desert & sea,
Forage for bird & beast.
The leaf is fun,
It dances with the wind,
Survival to all men,
Friend to rain & sun.
The leaf is green,
Bow down to her,
Fading in autumn light,
Returning in spring, always green.
