NOCTURNAL COUNTRY NOISES:

Waterfalls tinkling, afar in dark & distant night,

Owl hoots, shrew squeals, at his ending plight,

Fox tiptoes, sniffing coldly at his foe´s den & lair,

Leaving upon hoary hedgerows, red & telling hair,

Bats pay sonic homage, to the guarding opal moon,

While Druid within his Grove, chants a magic Rune,

Old falling leaves whisper, farewell to autumn trees,

Footstep of badger & was that a mouse that sneezed?

The crunching of branch, beneath small creeping paw,

I now strain my seeking ears, to hear just a fraction more.
