All values swept beneath technology´s mat,

Exchanged & swapped for life´s dross & tat,

Fingers active, screens on, keys well thumbed,

Digital values activated, brains well numbed.

 

Where have all true values gone, disappeared?

Leaving modernity, with ugly heads now reared,

Humanity, gurgling down dark gutters & drains,

Overload upon tired bodies & worn out brains.

 

Dignity, good manners & the simple faith in life,

Happy child, good man, contented mother & wife,

Time out to rest, to reflect, to relax & quietly muse,

Time away, from the world & all it´s terrible news.

 

Values we find deep within our hearts & souls,

That place that renews & again makes us whole,

Showing us the right paths on which to follow,

Values, enriching us all & not leaving us hollow.
