THIN EDGE OF THE WEDGE:

The children dying, the mothers crying, politicians lying,

The news inane, the country is in pain, who is to blame?

The thieves looting, terrorists shooting, the traffic hooting,

The church skirting, leaders spurting, the world is hurting.

Humanity is hanging on tightly, by the skin of its sore teeth,

Trying so hard to climb up, from those dark depths beneath,

Calling, crying & praying to Gods, with seemingly cloth ears,

Blaspheming & blaming errant Deities, for all their shed tears.

Wake up; shake up, it´s ultimately up to us, only to you & me,

Do not ever blame your Gods, it is merely us, don´t you see?

One by one, only we can move away, from that slippery ledge,

Only we can change it all, change the thin edge of the wedge.
