The blackbird
listening & digging for early worm,
Not for
him, the squeamish & the squishy squirm,
Weaver
bird building intricate nest, he never shirks,
Nobody
taught him the secrets of architect´s works,
Albatross
above ocean´s skies, without home or nest,
He knows,
upon thermals, how his tired wings to rest,
Crow,
from Highway Bridge, drops kernel with a knack,
Who
taught him, that traffic below, would his nuts crack?
Swan
swims her babies, beneath her wings snug & dry,
How do
all our feathered friends ever learn how to fly?
Penguins live in cold ice & snow &
know how to survive,
Eagles from their eyries , upon their prey do
dip & dive,
Hummingbirds, no jewels & yet they are gems
so bright,
How is it that all the plumed ones, just get
it all so right?
Millions of types of birds, in just as many
million lands,
They all share their secret, of their grand
plumed plans.
