Time whispers
down the long corridors of change,
Taking away
the familiar & leaving all the strange,
The café on
the corner, changed to different hands,
Where forests
once grew, now lie only shifting sands.
That bouncing
lap where the bonny babe once sat,
Is now only
of bone & old flesh that lies soft & flat,
The world
of marvel, reflected in young girl´s eyes,
Now that look,
is one of the long-lived & very wise.
Coffee´s lost
its magic & wine doesn’t taste the same,
The world
turns, losing wildness & everything we tame,
Man doesn’t
bow & lady in the shop no longer smiles,
Different
man, different lady, time has waltzed its miles.
Change is
all there was & is, nothing ever stays the same,
Only you &
I together, sharing our bed, our love & name,
We, stubborn
in life´s adversity, yet vowing to never bend,
Holding hands
forever, two pillars, stalwart to the very end.
