PETAL:

Born, tightly budded, snuggly and secretly furled,
Spring´s satined jewel, sedate and prettily pearled,
Waltzing daily, dressed in gold silken summer gown,
Embraced in dew´s moist arms in cool rosy sundown,
Waving farewell in the autumn´s sobbing red breeze,
Eloping with the fallen leaves of the dying copper trees,
Where the petal softly nestles and within death sleeps,
And there she awaits until spring gently calls and peeps.
