Christmas is now over, all done & duly
dusted,
Bank accounts now empty, well & truly
busted,
With the turkey stripped, we´re all well
stuffed,
Trimmings, plum puddings, doused &
truly duffed,
Gold crackers cracked & all our food
now scoffed,
Barrels & bottles emptied, imbibed
& gaily quaffed,
Bestowing mulled wine cheeks & egg-noggin
heads,
Slumped bloated bodies, in chairs &
some in beds,
Crumbs on laps & down chins, gravy
richly dripped,
Mince pies crumbled & gifts unwrapped
& ripped,
Cards disposed of & all decorations now
put away,
Children spent & tired out, from all
their festive play,
Baubles & tinsel removed, Christmas
tree taken down,
Stowed in boxes & drawers, with wistful
smile & frown,
All bidding farewell to Christmas, for yet
another year,
Thankful it´s all over, but not without a
small shed tear.
