Let´s pray for the gentle ones, whom our
language cannot speak,
For the gentle ones who are silent, roar,
growl, tweet, or squeak,
Let´s pray for all those gentle ones,
suffering at the hands of man,
Let´s pray for those who are here,
according to God´s fantastic plan.
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, who fly up
high, over our skies above,
For those, who like us, only ask for a
little respect & a tiny bit of love,
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, in all
waters that cascade ebb, & flow,
Let´s pray for those who walk the earth
& for those who live below.
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, those of
feather, fur, talon & claw,
For all the tiny insects & those with
wings, antennae & padding paw,
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, those who
slither, slide, prowl & crawl,
So let us pray for them all, whether
invisible, very big or very small.
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, those who climb,
stalk & swiftly run,
For those who live in snowy climes & beneath
the burning desert sun,
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, those poached,
shot & cruelly trapped,
For those whose souls, by humans, have been
hunted, chained, sapped.
Let us pray for the gentle ones & tell them
we´re sorry for all our sins,
For all of earth´s creatures, all animals of
feather, fur, quill, skin & fins,
Let´s pray for the gentle ones, all those of
God´s vast & original plan,
While upon our bended knees, let´s pray for
the enlightenment of man.
