Listen child; let
me tell you a story of once upon a time,
Once upon a time,
there were trees that embraced the sky,
There were birdies
of rainbow feathers, flying up on high,
There were beasts
of stripes & spots, living in cave & dens,
There were flowers
blooming wild, in colours of pretty gems,
The oceans &
seas held hands, with lakes & icy cold streams,
Rivers, ponds, giggling,
laughing with smiles prettily pristine,
Air was breathable,
thin, transparent & so clear back then,
Heather, lilac &
poppies grew in forests, fields & mossy glen,
Bees once hummed &
butterflies in the sunshine, once flew,
Moons shone, suns warmed
& mornings were kissed with dew,
Times when men shook
hands, hugged, loved & gently smiled,
I only hope that one
day, when you are fully grown my child,
You´ll never have to
say to your own babes, “Once upon a time”.
