Turn little violet;
turn & show me your small face,
In little pot, on window-sill,
your sunny urban place,
Behind glass pane,
indigo petals reaching for the sun,
Dreaming of Africa,
where you loved to laugh for fun.
African violet, deep
purple, potted, clipped & tamed,
Far from sunny climes,
but still, African violet named,
Please turn your little
face & give me your gentle smile,
In your sunny lilac
dreams, we´ll walk back a sunny mile.
