If I return to this
earth one day,
I ask you Lord &
do humbly pray,
Let me return for
a very short time,
And not as long as
this life of mine.
If I return, let
it be as small flower,
As dewdrop on rose,
lasting an hour,
Firefly for a day
or moth of the moon,
Snowdrop melting
with coming of June.
If I return, let
it be as day turns to night,
As seasons fly, changing
darkness to light,
As swift as a kiss
& a passing soft breeze,
As fleeting as foam
upon crest of blue seas.
If I return to this
earth, be it not to live long,
Not to see sadness,
only to hear sweet song,
Not to see man bestowing
his cruelty & death,
Return me as whisper,
upon lover´s sweet breath.
