The man is fat,
bald & he walks with a lilting limp,
He´s unfortunate
in looks, considered such a wimp,
But, oh those
eyes, they´re so very kind.
The woman is old,
wrinkled & she´s so doubled bent,
Missing teeth,
whipped by life & folk, so cruelly spent,
But, oh those
eyes, they´re so very wise.
The child is
dirty, poor & in the world so very alone,
He hasn’t a family
& has never known a loving home,
But, oh those
eyes, they´re so filled with awe.
The dog is kicked
by foot, tongue & man´s harsh hand,
Wandering the
streets trying to avoid the boot of man,
But, oh those
eyes, they´re so filled with faith.
Said to be the windows
of the soul, of every single eye,
Look deep within the
eye of life, to see all before you die,
But, oh those eyes,
they´re fading now.
