I THEN ARRIVED IN THIS THIS BIG WIDE WORLD WITH A YELL,
I CAME SCREAMING, NOT WANTING TO STAY, FEET FIRST, NOT HEAD.
MY TINY TOOTSIES WERE TICKLED & CARESSED, & ENCASED IN LOVE,
THEN IN LAMBS FUR BOOTIES, LATER IMPRISONED IN LEATHER HELL,
TEACHING ME TO WALK, OBEYING ORDERS FROM ABOVE.
I WALKED THROUGH BUSH & SCRUBBY THORN, SANDS OLD & GRASSNEW,
I WALKED THROUGH CHILDHOOD TOWARDS THE WOMAN I AM TODAY,
FEET SEASONED BY ANCIENT HEAT & EARLY MORNING DEW.
NESTLED IN DAINTY SATIN OF PURE WHITE, MY FEET & I MARRIED,
AND WITH EVERY CHILD THAT CAME ALONG THE WAY TO ME,
IN SUFFERING SILENCE MY FEET BORE EVERY BABE I CARRIED.
TOGETHER WE TRAVELLED CONTINENTS & NATIONS FAR & WIDE,
EACH TOE A MEMBER OF MY ERRANT TRAVELLING FAMILY,
THROUGH LIFE´S UPS & DOWNS, FACING EVERY EBBING TIDE.
I THANK THEM FOR THEIR LOYAL SERVICE, CARRYING ME ALL THE WAY,
AN OLD CRONE NOW, LOOKING DOWN UPON MY FEET FAMILY,
OLD FRIENDS WHO´LL NOW TAKE ME HOME FAR, FAR AWAY.
