Have you ever felt empty, deep down inside?
As empty as the shore, with ebbing of it´s tide?
As empty as winter tree missing her lost leaves?
As armless soldier, who has no need for sleeves?
Have you ever felt as empty as a ewer calling
out?
Silently calling to be filled, with water, ale
or stout?
As empty as futile chalice, from whence the
lovers sip?
Without rosy wine of Bacchus, to wet the waiting
lip?
Have you ever felt as empty as bottle without
a note?
Vacuous in its silence, as an ocean without
it´s boat?
As empty as voice sans song & tale without
its words?
As empty as the lonely sky, missing her flying
birds?
Have you ever felt as empty as a bed without
a lover?
As a soul without a prayer, or a pot without
its cover?
As a cold heart, that has never been warmed
to melt?
Have you ever felt really & truly empty?
Yes, I have felt.
