Winter lifted
his heavy grey blanket & kissed his lover spring upon her rosy cheek
And she smiled
him a sunbeam of devotion. He gave her gifts of floral frocks with
Filigreed frilly
hems & when she lifted her petaled petticoats, he glimpsed her pretty
Budded bloomers
& he smiled, hiding in the shadows.
Winter serenaded
spring through birdsong & the buzzing of lemony bees with an
Orchestra of angelic
tunes & they danced towards the beams of summery moons.
Spring´s giggles
echoed in stones being tickled by frivolous silly streams & poetry ran
Away with nature´s
lusty longings in unwritten words upon the earth´s pristine reams.
Spring bestowed
upon her love, scented sighs & perfumed breath, as she waltzed him
Into his welcoming
death.
“I´ll be back
to claim you, in more-or-less a year”, said winter & spring knowing this
To be true, as
he´d done it so often since the dawn of time & she shed the last of her
April tears.
