Of ruby, sapphire, beryl and every gem known to man are
you,
Sprinkled in nature´s morning tears, of raindrops, frost
and dew,
Glinting, silky patterned and lacily delicate, of soft
downy gleam,
Darting, flitting in and out of mossy brook and laughing
silly stream.
Garbed in gowns of turquoise, scarlet, green and old burnished
gold,
Skimming, dipping, sipping and diving, so pretty and yet
so very bold,
Kissing velvet lilly-pads, shy petals and playing amidst
the river beds,
Flying rainbow gems in sunny yellows, cyan blues and cherry-berry
reds.
Pretty fairies of the forest glens, you of delicate gossamer
dainty wings,
Gentle demeanor, whispering flight and without malicious
hurtful stings,
To you pretty ones, of hushed waltzing dancing’s and swift
silver fleetings,
Hail to you, for making my dawns richer in our colourful
daily meetings.
