GONE:

Where are they?

All of those missing, disappeared & gone,

What happened to them, what went wrong?

Fallen through the cracks, in the spinning of life,

Their missing, to loved ones, causing such strife.

Where are they?

The kidnapped, the stolen, the soldiers at war,

By villain, tyrant & dictator, pacing world´s floor,

Mothers wailing for babies, torn from their arms,

Why have they gone, causing such aching harm?

Where are they?

Walking out the door with a “Bye for now” & a smile,

Eternity replacing the, “I shall be back in a while”,

Leaving dark shadows, where sunshine once shone,

“Missing”, reward if you find, but now sadly gone.

WHAT HAPPENED TO?

What happened to all those promises?

The war to end all terrible wars,

The cures for illness once & for all,

The politician’s words, stories so tall.

What happened to all those promises?

The words of, love forever, oath & “I do”,

The vow of, “I´ll never love anyone but you”,

The promises of, “I shall always be true.”

What happened to all those promises?

It wasn´t the war to end all terrible wars,

Illness stayed, returned & never left at all,

The politicians still lie low & so falsely stall.

What happened to all those promises?

The forever, the oath & “I do”, were all lies,

The “I love you” vowed, made you despise,

Promises of truth, merely turned to “Why´s?”

TELL ME:

Tell me your stories of times gone by,

Tales of truth, but with no hint of a lie,

Wax lyrical poetry, to woo my sad ears,

Words of your love, to allay all my fears,

Sing sweet melodies, in soft tuneful songs,

Airs of what´s right, without all the wrongs,

Tell me in odes & sonnets, all about love,

And restore my faith, in sweet God above.

WHAT WORLD DO I GIVE YOU?

My little one, what world do I give you?

The poverty, pain, struggle, pollution too,

Corruption of humans, perpetrators of pain,

I wish I could erase it & start all over again.

Forgive me my little one, for what I am leaving,

The earth so depleted, very sad & left heaving,

The awful cruelty of wars & abuse of the land,

I wish I could see the enlightenment of man.

My little one, I leave you a world waiting for love,

And when I have gone, I´ll be watching from above,

May you embrace this old world that I´m giving you,

May this world embrace you back & give you love too.

YOU´RE AN OLD GAL NOW:

You´re an old gal now, put away your red knickers,

Hide your stilettos, you´re no longer an ass kicker,

Your lips no longer need paint, in harlot sexy red,

No young stud you´ll need, to be taking to your bed.

You´re an old gal now, sans cleavage & round rosy butt,

No need now, in short skirts, to primp & sassily strut,

No dangling of shining bling & those come-hither eyes,

No more one night stands & long drawn out goodbyes.

You´re an old gal now, of warm slippers & hearthside fires,

Long gone are the flames, of hot passions & ardent desires,

But not for me, your simpering & sympathetic beatitudes,

Beware, this gal may be old, but still with hell of an attitude.
