SEARCHING FOR GOD:

I will not find God, upon a high mountain top,

Not even while travelling, until I´m fit to drop,

I´ll not find God, upon the crest of sea´s wave,

And not within my vault, no matter how I save.

God´s not to be found, in any temple or church,

Not in forest grove, no matter where I search,

God´s not to be found, in petal, bloom or tree,

Not in tripping over fields & thinking I am free.

God´s not to be found, in the moon, stars or sun,

Not even while I´m laughing, pretending it is fun,

Our God is to be found, in the learning how to be,

God is in everything, & all that´s deep within me.

HOUSEWIFE:

As I fold away neatly, your crisp cotton sheets,

Tucking my thoughts away, in soft quiet pleats,

Your house I dust clean & your floors I do mop,

As from pails of my eyes, my tears roll & drop.

With soapy warm suds, I wash dirty used dishes,

Within coloured bubbles, drift away all my wishes,

Daily, I wash, clean & iron, your worn soiled clothes,

While upon washing-line, my ambition, away blows.

The plans, dreams & schemes I once, long ago made,

All disappeared, within the painful birthing of babes,

And all the while, I was searching, seeking & looking,

Lost schemes melted, in the daily steam of my cooking.

Every day, through the years, that I cared & I cleaned,

Keeping your house in order, till it shone & it gleamed,

You ask me softly now, why I stay & to what is it due?

And I answer by saying, “It´s simply because I love you”.

WINDS OF CHANGE:

So icy, those winds of change

That wallows within my wishing

Echoing in the hollows of my mind

Whispering along olden pathways

Of my old & ancient remembering

Caressing with unrequited loving

Hardened corners of my memories

Leaving old sharp icicles snapping

Within dark cauldron of my heart.

DREAMERS AND BELIEVERS:

Go forth my son & be a dreamer & believer,

Believe in your dreams & dream your beliefs,

So go my son, you´re your life´s own retriever,

Don´t allow destiny into the hands of thieves.

Go forth my son & dream your own fateful fate,

Believe in the truth & she´ll show you her face,

Block your ears, to the jealous words of all hate,

Go forward, step by step & know it´s your place.

Go forth my son & believe all that´s impossible,

And in kindness, make this hard old world rattle,

Go now in love, in good & dream all that is possible,

Within your dreams, believe you can win every battle.

Go forth my son & make your dreams all come true,

In whatever you believe & wherever you may wander,

Heed those whispers in your soul, in all that you do,

Believe in your dreams, as dreams are not squandered.

CHRISTMAS PRAYER:

Let´s replace our aisles of stores, to Holy church,

His name upon our tongues, we´ll not besmirch,

We pray for renewed faith & lost honoured trust,

And for the starving & hungry, a mere small crust,

We ask for help, for all those, in cold gutters, lying,

For those being birthed & for all those, now dying,

Help for those in illness & sorry war ripped zones,

For the ones unloved & for the many without homes,

For the abandoned by society, & those, so sadly ailing,

Oh please help us Lord, in our tragic & human failing,

Please Lord; show us how to lend our helping hands,

Help us to understand all those, from far foreign lands,

How to respect our all our neighbours & also ourselves,

How to curb our Xmas greed, from feasting shop shelves,

Please enlighten mankind, that we´re really all the same,

Every living creature upon this earth, by any given name,

And that we are not superior, & we are never the best,

Show us dear Lord that we are merely, like all the rest.

Amen.
