SPLICED:

You supply, I comply & then we both deny,

All signed, set & sealed, until the day we die,

Oathed & vowed in the, “Till death us do part,”

But along the path, we both lost our hearts.

What happened to passion & our starry eyes?

Tell me, when did it all turn & go terribly awry?

And when did this “Drudge” replace that “Look?”

Tell me, “What happened to our special book?”

When did we stop having time, to laugh & play?

Upon which path was it, that we lost our way?

Oh for those fairy days, of pretty make believe,

Maybe, there´s still one card, up our loving sleeve.

WITHERING WHISPERS:

Upon soft floral whispers of farewell, dying,

Autumnal leaves, in adieu, go away flying,

Wind-fallen withering, in thudding golden fall,

Wild winds screeching, with uninvited squall.

Breeze-kissed arias, sung upon Autumn´s voice,

Bronze, copper, gold, old leaves spoilt for choice,

Trees, shod in ochre slippers & blood-red gowns,

Dancing through Summer halls, of fields, hills & towns.

MENU OF THE DAY:

Two starters, two mains & then two deserts,

Choosing perfectly, dishes that will not hurt,

Wine to numb, coffee to follow & the final mint,

Hopefully deciding, on the one who doesn´t stint.

For starters, I´ll have one with the loveliest smile,

For the main course, the one who will stay awhile,

And sip by sip, from the wine of love I shall drink,

I´ve chosen from the right menu, don´t you think?

LAMPLIGHT AND LANDMINES:

Dim lamplight flames, where night moths meet,

Gathering in shadows, where their wings so beat,

Falling flighty dustings, upon the powdered beams,

Wings, legs, antennas, stitched by invisible seams,

Their bodies crashing, burnt, torn & so hotly singed,

Wings, legs, antennas, melt & become unhinged.

Street-lamps lure, the flitting black & old bats to dip,

Where insects gather & bend, toward night dew to sip,

Those of leathered wing, deep, black & so very dark,

Caressing sanity slowly, behind the gnarled oak bark,

Dawn cracks, embracing lamp & sunlight, striking blind,

Sunrise creeping softly, leaving night´s landmines behind.

DECAY:

The old flesh stripped from ragged bones,

Tenaciously clinging, to life-long homes,

Teeth dropping, like corn-rotted kernels,

Befuddled mind, lost within mists infernal,

Hair, snowy coir, in dry straw thin strands,

Yellow talons curved, upon claw-like hands,

Pale limbs bent & crooked, groping, akimbo,

Milk eye, peering through history´s windows,

Tongue lolling within the mouth, wide gaping,

Voice silent, with words, no longer shaping,

Body & mind now rotting, within sad decay,

But the soul, oh the soul, forever here to stay.
