GET A LIFE:

“Go get a life” they said, so I did,

“Come out”, they said, when I hid,

“Go do this”, they said & “Do that”,

With fingers pointing & words spat,

“Go there”, they said, then I went,

“Stay here”, they said, then I bent.

“Get a life”, they said, but what life?

It´s not mine, that of trouble & strife,

I had a good life once, that was mine,

But they came along & said it was time,

To get a life, but in the way they say,

I had a life once, but I lived it my way.

SPINNING:

The world goes spinning round & round,

Silently & softly, without a single sound,

But for humanity & their noisy loud dross,

Hearing mere whispers, of web & soft moss.

In crazy battles & man´s silly fought wars,

In unsettling voices, of sad un-met scores,

This world spins around without single care,

While mankind is too busy, splitting old hairs.

In all her beauty, the world just quietly spins,

Taking pity on all humans & their useless sins,

And merely nodding her head, she spins away,

Saying, “Within my spinning, you´ll not long stay”.

HAPPINESS:

Happiness depends, not on husband, lover or wife,

Never rely on friends, to remove your unhappy strife,

It´s not a baby´s job, to fill you with happy joy & glee,

Dare, as to God you beg for joy, in your praying plea.

It is so unfair to place, the onus upon another´s head,

Expecting happiness from all, in place of you instead,

It is no one else’s job, to put that smile upon your lips,

Nor laughter in your heart, from where you take your sips.

Your happiness is yours my friend & it´s only yours alone,

Placed solely on your shoulders, so stop your wailing moan,

Put that joy within your soul & happy smile upon your face,

Upon this happy earth, you have earned your rightful place.

THERE ARE PLACES:

There are places in deep forests,

Where old moths weep dewdrops & butterflies talk,

Where footsteps of legends, echo where they walk,

Where one hears the voices, of small & unseen folk,

Where one feels wrapped, within the magic they evoke.

There are places in arid hot deserts,

Where gentle dying whisperings, are so often heard,

Where sand cradles souls, of every creature & flying bird,

Where sunshine is silence & good friend of golden noons,

Where secrets are told, only to the beams of silver moons.

There are places upon soft sea-shores,

Where old mermaids, make their whelk-skin silken beds,

Where words of God are spoken & Angels dare to tread,

Where rainbows meet skies, in their berry-hued embrace,

Where errant footsteps of man, disappear without a trace.

WHEN LIFE SHEDS A MEMORY:

When life sheds a memory,

It sheds a tight living skin,

Of those once garbed & protected from within.

When life sheds a memory,

It sheds those long past loves,

Of those caressed by fingers, in mind´s dimmed gloves.

When life sheds a memory,

It sheds, all once known belongings,

Of whispers tiptoeing by, in long forgotten longings.

When life sheds a memory,

It sheds it´s last breathed breath,

Of beloved words once spoken, far beyond life´s death.
